Andy’s Area: Good afternoon! Over the weekend we heard that longtime Ozarks Broadcast legend, Don Paul (Pirwitz) passed away. Originally from East Rochester, New York, Don Paul moved to the Ozarks and joined KTTS 94.7FM. His distinctive voice became a regional favorite. His career also brought him to Branson with KRZK. He also worked news later in his broadcast journey with KWTO. He also served as pastor of the United Church of God in Springfield 2011 – 2021. He and his wife, Sharon, were married over 50 years and had three children and six grandchildren. Don Paul was very instrumental in helping us start our late-night broadcast. We started the show in 2002 as Grand Country Saturday Night! Don Paul hosted the show and booked the talent. We’re very thankful for all of his work in establishing what we know now as the nationally syndicated show, Branson Country USA.Services will be held 10am, June 22 at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and many friends. Respectfully, Andy |
Mike’s Moment: Good afternoon! I’m sad to let you know David Ragan is leaving New South and moving back to his original home of Roscommon, Michigan. David, his wife Reagan, and their cuties, Anna, Abigail, James and Jacob, are making the move to be closer to family. David said, “We have one year before the school starts for us and it’s a good time to get relocated.” David started with us in 2014 after singing with the very successful gospel groups: The Inspirations and The Perry’s. We had been trying to recruit him long before he joined us. We’re so thankful for everything David has contributed to Grand Country! In addition to performing, he’s been very instrumental with vocal arrangements for our shows and recording projects. David can thank us for making him the dancer he is today. “Moves like Jagger”! There’s no doubt he’s extremely gifted and we wish him all the best in the next chapter of his life. We will also miss Reagan and their precious children. We’re so very thankful for everything David has brought to our team. I’m personally honored that I got to share the stage with this extraordinarily talented man. He will be missed! We’re in the recruitment process for his position. When we know the date of his last show, I will make sure to let you know. MikeDavid Ragan Bio |
