Who exactly is Mark McCauley, the bass vocalist from New South? The gospel quartet performs in multiple shows a week at the Grand Country Live Music Hall, and their beautiful gospel songs have been entertaining families for years.

Musical Background

Mark McCauley was born in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1961. He started singing as early as 10 years old. In his early days, he just sang around the house for family members, but even then, he knew that music was something he truly loved. Around age 13, he realized his talent for bass vocals and attributed his discovery of it to his love of gospel quartet singing.

At age 16, he began singing professionally with the Singing Fowlers. He later joined a group called the Tennessee Valley Boys, who performed in Branson at a show called Country Music World.

And this shining light in Branson has been singing in our beautiful city ever since.

Grand Country

Mark is one of the original cast members of Grand Country’s Grand Jubilee, and has been entertaining families for over 20 years now. The Grand Jubilee is our signature show, featuring live music, comedy, and dancing. It is a favorite of many Branson visitors for its clean, family-friendly comedy and amazing vocals.

As the bass singer of the New South quartet in the show, Mark performs beautiful gospel music for the audience. He also performs at the live Branson Country USA show broadcast on Friday evenings at Grand Country. He also anchors the New South Gospel show as well.

He has also performed with other famous Branson entertainers and national acts, including Mel Tillis, Anita Bryant, and Loretta Lynn.

Love of Branson

Like everyone who lives here, Mark loves the Branson area for its kind-hearted people, natural beauty, and wholesome family values. He loves living in a place where live gospel music is appreciated and celebrated.

He also met his wife Donel here at a Branson show where the two worked together, and now they are happily married and have a son named Jacob. For this, he considers himself a very blessed man.
